Leadership - It's all about reputation

Reputation is important. Well, it’s more than just important. It’s pivotal to our character, our interactions with others, and our leadership to those we serve.
Keep it clean.
Once your reputation is tarnished, it’s incredibly difficult, if not impossible to recover from. It can be done; however it will take a considerable amount of time.
Our reputations precede us.
We often learn more about a person by what others say than what they say or think about themselves. A person’s self-estimation is often unreliable.
Questions to ask yourself and observe in others.

How can you spot a person of value?
First, witness how he or she handles praise. Are they humbled or proud?
Second, observe the things he or she praises? What conduct or behavior is acceptable to them?
Last, is he or she teachable? Does the praise they receive challenge them to do and become better?
It goes without saying that our reputations carry quite a bit of weight. Remember, what you accept in your presence becomes your standard.
